Pet Day

Students of Pre primary had an opportunity to get close with pets, to touch them, feel them and feed them. The theme of the event was “Don’t shop, Please adopt”. It was a novel and unique experience for students to learn about pet animals. There were dogs, fish, cat, turtle and different species of birds to name a few. The students couldn’t contain their excitement after meeting the pet animals and were thrilled to bits.

In-house Picnic- Nursery

Students of Nursery had an in-house picnic on Friday, 10th March in the Main auditorium. Children witnessed a magic show after a sumptuous breakfast. They were spellbound by the tricks the magician offered one after another. They took turns to play in the Bounce Castle and participated in the games. All the students were taken by surprise to meet their favorite cartoon characters, Motu and Patlu. Their happy little feet danced to the tunes of their favorite tracks. The popcorn and juice at the end of the picnic added to their endless smiles.

Science - The Way of Life

Every curious child is a scientist. This was proved by the models displayed by the students in the Science Day Exhibition which was held at our school, on 28th February, 2023. Wide-ranging exhibits were seen - a house which can raise itself during a flood, irrigation systems for your kitchen garden which can be controlled by a mobile phone, driving alarm glasses and so on. Which just proves that there is an inbuilt spark plug in each of us. We just need to ignite the ideas our students have so that, their innovative minds will make us proud. Let us promise, that we will never stop learning & will keep on exploring.

A career in the Armed Forces

A career in the Armed Forces is not a profession; it is a calling. Service to the nation is the most sublime form of service. It is a matter of immense pride that our alumna, Lieutenant Commander Disha Ashra has been felicitated at the Aero Show for her exemplary services. To honour her stupendous achievements, a felicitation ceremony was organised by her Alma Mater, Sindhi High School, KK Road on Friday, 17th February. We hope that her inspiring presence will act as a catalyst for our youngsters, who are on the threshold of choosing a career for themselves.

Saraswathi Pooja - Positivity through Divinity

With exams knocking at the door, it's important for students to seek the blessings of the almighty. The Management and staff had organised a Ganesha Homa and Saraswati Pooja in the school on Friday, 10th February,2023 so that the students could offer their obeisance, seek divine blessings of the Supreme Being before taking the Board exams which shall mark their foray in the next phase of their career and academic growth.Students looked resplendent in their ethnic attire,and the school witnessed a rainbow of colours.There was an air of excitement while the smell of camphor and divinity filled the air.We wish our students all the best for their successful future.

Graduation Day 2022-23

Memories to treasure & cherish!

Bitter- sweet are the memories of school and the batch of 2022-23 bid adieu in a formal function,the Graduation Day ceremony. The theme of the Graduation Day was aptly named 'Attitude determines Altitude'. The Chief Guest was Dr. K. P. Puthuraya,the former chairman of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health and Sciences, Writer, Orator and Columnist.

The Chief Guest Dr K.P. Puthuraya, President - Sri Sanjeev Atmaram & Principal - Smt. Devika Kiran enthused and motivated the students with their speeches.The highlights of the function included a speech by parent Ms.Rachanaa Venkatesh- Mother of Nikitha V. Hebbar- class X B and Students S.Hrithik -class X B and Sameeksha Srinivas - class X C .Videos featuring the Class X Students with clippings of their school life, the Shikshavalli , oath administering by the head boy and the head girl and the ceremony ended on a high note with a feast. We are sure that these poignant moments in this solemn ceremony shall be mused on by the batch of 2022-23 for the years to come.

Class X Farwell Party

A boisterous morning filled with laughter and emotions Sindhi High School family came together to bid farewell to the outgoing batch 22-23 of class 10 students. It was a day of mixed emotions for the students. The students reminisced years spent together with friends. The auditorium was beautifully decorated keeping in mind the theme 'Climax Bash'. Students of class 9 organized farewell party with great enthusiasm and endeavoured to leave a trail of nostalgia behind for the tenth graders. The afternoon ended with a sumptuous lunch.

Pre-Primary Annual Day

The Pre Primary Annual Day - Taare Zameen Par, was held on Saturday, 28th January 2023, Venue-Seth Naraindas H. Hinduja Hall. The event began with the comperes, Ms.Deepa Santosh Kumar and Ms.Jyothi Praveen, welcoming the audience.

The Chief Guest Mrs Radhika D Shyam in her address advised the parents not to impose their wishes on their children and let them be themselves. The programme commenced with an invocation song followed by invocation dance.

The cultural programme unfolded beautifully, with the little ones from the Pre Primary wing dancing to catchy and lively dance numbers.

Republic Day Celebrations

Celebrating the Religion of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity

“Constitution is not a mere lawyer’s document, it is a vehicle of Life, and its spirit is always the spirit of Age.” - Dr B.R. Ambedkar

As India celebrates its 74th Republic Day, we were surely not to be left behind. Class 1 to 5 students and the staff participated in a wonderfully orchestrated function to celebrate the formation of our constitution. The unfurling of the flag by our eminent guest Sri Vinod Kumar Hemdev, the Vice President of Sindhi Seva Samiti, was followed by his speech in which he stressed upon the need to uphold the principles on which our constitution is based. A cultural program including a medley of songs, dance and a speech by the students, were the hallmark of the occasion. The enthusiastic performances and participation by our juniors, teachers and parents showcased the love and patriotism that we feel, towards our country.

Hemu Kalani - the 'Abhimanyu' of the August Movement.

Shaheed Diwas was observed in school on 24th January,2023. Hemu Kalani was one of the youngest revolutionaries , executed for fighting for Indian independence. In a somber ceremony to mark the occasion, a PowerPoint presentation and a video highlighting his sacrifice was presented to the students.



Makar Sankranti


Makar Sankranti’s special significance is the Sun's rays coming from the North direction, which is supposed to be the abode of gods. On 16th January,2023 our students narrated how the Harvest festival is celebrated in various States of India during the assembly. A festival display highlighting the celebration of the Harvest festival in different states was put up in school. Children sang songs and enjoyed the festival celebration.

Kids for Tigers

"For the Tiger, we must unite, so they don't fade out of sight." Kids for Tigers is an educational outreach programme that touches the lives of urban kids across the country. The program educates and motivates young children about conservation of wildlife and their habitat.The tiger, is a rallying point for children working to safeguard their own future. On 7th January, 2023, students and a faculty member participated in Nature Trail at Lalbagh Garden.

Inspired through the nature walks ,a whole new generation of dedicated conservationists has emerged.

NATIONAL YOUTH DAY

“To the heroes of tomorrow, to the energies that will define the future."

National Youth Day was celebrated on 12th January,2023.The teens were encouraged to take inspiration from the life and contributions of Swami Vivekananda, to awaken the eternal spirit of adolescents towards enhancing the nation's economy. The day communicated to the youth to build Ek Bharat, Shreshta Bharat. Students were called upon to contribute to the cleanliness drive - Swachh Bharat.

Speech by faculty and power point presentation by students marked the occasion. “The best resource that a nation can have to grow is YOUTH….. Cheers to the young energies and young minds on National Youth Day!!”




Christmas Celebrations

Ho Ho.......It's Christmas.

The spirit of caring, giving and sharing was inculcated among the tiny tots (pre primary and class 1 and 2). Christmas brings cheer and love and we celebrated it with great fervour. Our students danced to joyful Christmas carols. Even Santa joined in and danced with the children.

There was carol singing by our teachers. Santa distributed chocolates to the students.

The staff members also had a Christmas party. They played Secret Santa, a game of Housie, sang Carols and enjoyed snacks.

ERT - 'Emergency Response Team'

The staff members who are a part of the ERT - 'Emergency Response Team' went to the Fire Station at Race Course Road to attend a training session on Saturday, 10th December, 2022. The informative session equipped the staff members to deal with any unforeseen emergencies that might crop up at the school premises.

Character Building and Self Discipline - by Dr Rajdeep Manwani

An insightful session on 'Character Building and Self Discipline' was conducted for the students of class 10 by Dr Rajdeep Manwani on Monday, 19th December, 2022.

The focus of the session was on taking control of one's emotions and choices, adhering to rules, laws, habits set for oneself and working with focussed determination towards one's goals. The session was followed by an open forum.

Save Soil - Our Nurturer and our Anchor to life

Land with rich soil & abundant water is the best gift we can offer to future generations – Sadhguru

One of the most important five elements that make up the world, humankind has often disregarded it's importance. Sadhguru, the founder of Isha foundation, who has started the 'Save Soil' campaign to activate the support of citizens, on a motorcycle, graced us with his holy presence.

He was greeted by the President of our school, Shri Sanjeev Atmaram, his team of office bearers, executives of our school and the Sindhi group of institutions, students, teachers, parents and passersby, with reverence and love. The students, inspired by his philosophy, greeted him with songs and a beautiful dance performance. They held placards and recycled balloons and shouted slogans to highlight our support towards the cause. We, the Sindhians, promise to be conscious and create awareness about the importance of saving our soil, for the benefit of mankind.

Class IX & X Picnic

What is this life, if full of care....

The students of class 9 and 10 had their moments in the warm lap of nature,through a rejuvenating trip organised at Nature Adventure Camp and Avaniya Resorts, respectively. With different activities such as ziplining, kayaking, wall-climbing, mud adventures, tugging the rope, rain-dance, swimming etc. Each moment was filled with fun and frolic.

The students returned home, tired but a happy lot.

Annual Day - Ananda Harikrishna

A kaleidoscope of naughtiness, love and glory
Ananda Harikrishna - A blue feather in the cap of SHS!!


यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत।

परित्राणाय साधूनां विनाशाय च दुष्कृताम् ।
धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय सम्भवामि युगे युगे ॥

The many facets of Lord Krishna were presented in our magnum opus which showcased his entire journey from his childhood to his revelation through 'Vishwaroopa Darshana'. Each moment was poignant and emotional for the participants and the spectators alike. The children portrayed different roles, right from Kamsa, Yashoda to his loyal devotees and friends. There was an air of festivity and reverence. The program began with a formal function in which Falak Maniyar was awarded the Best allrounder in the Junior category while Shravya was awarded the Best allrounder in the Senior category. This visual feast was well attended by parents and various dignitaries.

Pre Primary Sports Meet

The Pre Primary Annual Sports Meet was conducted on Friday, 11th November 2022 at Bharath Sevadal School grounds. ‘ Clean and Green- The Urban Twins’ was the theme of the Sports Meet. The Chief guest for the event was Dr. Mahesh Kukreja, Hon. Treasurer, Sindhi Seva Samiti. It was a memorable day to watch the little ones on the field. Students participated in March Past, Dance Display, Yoga Display and various races. The smile and joy of the participants were contagious when they bagged the medals and devoured hot popcorns and cotton candy with their friends.

Prize day

The prize distribution ceremony of our school was held on 12th November, 2022. Lion M Anil Kumar (Advocate) was the chief guest for the function.

The Chief-guest was warmly received by the Office Bearers, Principal and the staff. The school band gave him a guard of honor.

The function commenced with an invocation song.The Chief Guest, President, Office Bearers, Executives and Co-ordinators gave away the prizes for Proficiency prize winners of 2021-22 from Class 1-9 and toppers of the AISSE(Class 10).The prize distribution was followed by a short speech by the Chief Guest. He praised the school for its all-round progress and brought home to the students their duties and responsibilities. The function ended with a vote of thanks and National Anthem..

Class 7 & 8 Picnic to Amegundi Resorts

A day's picnic was organised on Saturday, 5th November 2022 to Amegundi Resorts, Kanakapura Road, for the students of class 7 and 8. Five buses left from the school at 7.45 a.m. Children danced & sang throughout the journey. After reaching there a refreshing breakfast was served and children enjoyed different rope activities, indoor and outdoor games. Lunch included noodles, dal, rasam, curds, puri bhaji which was relished by all. Children were taken to the swimming pool where they enjoyed the most.

Children enjoyed rain dance with new catchy numbers and water splashing in from all sides.

Then high tea was served after which everyone marched back to the buses and kept themselves busy in jumping and dancing all the way back to school. Over all the trip was a refreshing one for all the students.

Kannada Rajyotsava

On the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava, our Sindhians presented a cultural programme highlighting the history and legacy of the State of Karnataka. The Kannada teachers guided the students to celebrate this occasion. Students presented the rich legacy of the state through songs, dance, drama and powerpoint presentation. Speaking on this occasion our Principal Ms Devika Kiran urged students to respect the language and take pride in imbibing the culture and values of our vast Indian culture.

INSIGHT 9 - A Career Counselling Session For Students Of Class X

The Alumni Association of Sindhi High School, K K Road organized a career counselling session for the students of class X on Saturday, 22nd October, 2022. With a plethora of career options available in the contemporary times, the role of a career counseling session becomes indispensable.

Mr Kunal Shah encouraged the students to pursue their interests and work sincerely to achieve their goals. The resource persons - Mr Karan Kukreja, Mr Rahul Manyal, Mr Varun C, Ms Priyanka, Ms Mahima Punjabi gave the students an insight into to different career option. They urged the students not to make decisions based on peer pressure and herd mentality. Students were made aware of the different options in professional courses they could pursue based on the subject choices they would make. Queries raised by the students were addressed by the alumni.

Annual Sports Meet

The Annual Sports Meet of Sindhi High School was conducted on Friday, 28th October at Malleswaram Grounds. ‘Plan Prepare Propel’ was the theme of the Sports meet. This year marks the 40 years of the inception of the school. The Chief guest for the Inauguration was Sri. Ashok Kandhari, Honorary Treasurer, Sindhi High School, KK Road and the Chief Guest for the Valedictory was Sri Girish Gowda, Indian Kickboxer. The grounds wore a festive look and the students were at their competitive best. The highlight of the event was the Inter school Relay for the boys and girls and a race for the Alumni.

All students participated in the displays which were a visual treat.The Chief guest Sri Girish Gowda exhorted the students to participate in sports. The day ended with the distribution of Prizes and trophies.

A walkathon to promote a clean and green Bengaluru, was organized by the Sindhi Seva Samiti to celebrate 40 years of our great institution. It is a momentous occasion in the history of this great institution. The event was attended by the members of the Sindhi Seva Samiti, the hosts Sindhi High school, KK Road campus, Sindhi High School, Hebbal branch, Sindhi Pre-University College, Sindhi Seva School, parents and the general public. There were more than 2000 participants. The event was covered by media Radio FM, Red FM who propagated the cause and broadcasted the details of the event. The guests and the participants were greeted by the school band which lent pomp and festivity to the occasion. Advitya and Amulya, the mascots for the occasion, were dressed up as the Earth and Mother Nature to highlight the importance of participation and create awareness for the cleanliness campaign. The walkathon was flagged off by none other than our beloved Member of Parliament, Shri Tejaswi Surya. He spoke at length about the services of the Sindhi community and the Sindhi legacy. He highlighted the need to walk away our problems related to obesity and stressed on the need to walk our way to good health. The Guests of Honour were Sri Sandeep Patil (IPS-Additional Commissioner of Police- West), Dr. B.R. Ravikanthe Gowda (IPS-Joint Commissioner of Police-Traffic), Sri S Sampath Kumar, Ex-Corporator BBMP, Vasanthnagar Ward and Dr. Ranbir Singh( CBSE-Regional Officer, Bengaluru).The witnesses to the event took a pledge to dedicate 200 hours of service towards cleanliness every year. The President of our school Sri Madan Doulatram appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers in promoting our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision.Volunteers in a jeep and four bikes manned the progress of the walkathon. Students of the Nature club took charge and cleared the roads from the litter. Dance, Nukkad Natak, and songs were performed at several locations on the way. Convoys showcasing a tableau and the theme of cleanliness were the highlight of the occasion. The tableau was decorated beautifully and students performed dances, songs and role-plays based on the theme. The main protagonists of the event, our students walked enthusiastically, not letting the 4 km walk deter them. Plants were distributed along the way. Several pourakarmikas were appreciated and felicitated on the route and at the school venue, for their key role in keeping Bengaluru clean. The event was a great success and another feather in the cap for our institution.

Computer Lab

A place where students invest their time in learning programming, and improving basic computer skills that will help them later to define their career goals. The computer lab was revamped and 43 new systems were installed in the lab. Following our traditions a Pooja was performed by the Executives and staff on 7th October, 2022.

Diya Making

Diwali is synonymous with Diyas. Students across pre-primary participated in the activity with great enthusiasm. They were dressed in vibrant hues and geared up for the upcoming Diwali festival by making their own diyas. Nursery students did paper tearing activity, LKG students made an origami diya and UKG students painted and decorated the mud diya.

Yellow Splash

Colours bring joy and happiness to life. Every month witnesses a colour being glorified in the Pre-primary. Yellow splash was celebrated in the month of October by students. Students participated in show and tell activity. The show and tell activity aims to enhance their language skills.

Fireless Cooking

Food unites people across the world. What better way to celebrate an activity to share food and enjoy with their peers post covid scenario. Our little chefs of UKG dished their own food and savored every bite. Indeed a proud moment for each child, when their teacher mentioned that the dish was yummy. Students of Nursery and LKG participated in a guided session led by the teacher. They made some yummy fruit cones, corn salad, sandwiches and monaco bites.

Class 10 talk by Chairman Sir

A session was conducted on Saturday, 8th October, 2022. Sri Prakash Madhwani, Chairman, SHS, K K Road, advised the students and gave them tips to enhance their academic performance. Sir ,who is a prolific writer himself, stressed on the necessity of inculcating good reading and writing habits. He also advised the parents not to have unrealistic expectations from their children and not to overburden them. Principal Mrs Devika Kiran spoke to the students about UFM - unfair means, stressing on the fact that honesty is the best policy and ended the session by extending vote of thanks.

Ganesha Chaturthi Celebrations

Lord Ganesha is a deity known universally for granting wisdom and removing obstacles. Children celebrated Ganesha Chaturthi by adorning festive wear, singing bhajans, doing aarti and offered prayers to the god. They ate yummy boondi, sundal and fruits as prasadam.

Pre Counseling Session

A pre counseling session was conducted on Friday, 7th October,2022 for the students by the alumni. Mr Karan Kukreja addressed the students of class 10. The alumni conducted the session to develop an understanding of what the students seek from the counseling session so that they can arrange speakers accordingly.

Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav - Our flag flies high

“Freedom is transcending our mental, emotional and physical limitations to achieve greater heights for our nation.” A series of events have been planned to celebrate the 76th Independence Day and completion of 75 glorious years of freedom. The Flag shall be unfurled on the 15th of August and the occasion shall be celebrated with great spirit and fervor.

Sanskrit Diwas

Sindhi High School, K K Road celebrated Sanskrit Diwas on 12th August 2022. The programme commenced with an invocation song in the praise of Lord Almighty.

The programme included skit, shloka chanting from Srimadbhagavatgita, and a PPT on Uttarakhand our partnering state under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative of GOI. The most breath-taking part of the programme was the dance that left the audience spellbound. The entire programme was presented only in Sanskrit language. Speaking on this occasion the Principal Mrs Devika Kiran highlighted the importance of Sanskrit language and its demand globally. Principal urged students to respect and take pride in imbibing the culture and values of our vast Indian Culture. Indeed it was a wonderful programme.

Elocution Competition - Articulating ‘Sindhi Jo Jazbo’

An inter-school competition has been organized for students to showcase the richness of Sindhi culture and their heritage, in honor of the ruby celebrations of our school. The event shall be put into motion by our Honorable Chief Guest and Chairman, Mr. Prakash F. Madhwani on the 11th of August.
